A concrete or masonry retaining wall that can ensure the flood control safety of towns and important industrial and mining enterprises, along the river and coastal areas (some seawalls) or other special requirements, also known as flood control artifacts. The function of a levee is the same as that of a levee. Because the city has main traffic roads along the river, and the buildings are dense, sometimes due to the restrictions of existing projects, or because of the needs of urban planning and development, or because of the source of soil, flood control walls have to be used to reduce land occupation and demolition. The flood control wall mainly has two kinds of reinforced concrete wall and masonry wall.

In the case of weak foundation, small bearing capacity or limited by foundation conditions, it is appropriate to choose reinforced concrete walls. The underground burial depth, according to experience, is generally dozens of centimeters to more than 1 meter, and the high wall design has determined the burial depth to prevent foundation deformation and affect safety. The width and thickness of the foundation are determined by the calculation of the bearing capacity and stable strength of the foundation. Install a filter or other form of filtration device on the toe of the back water to reduce osmotic pressure. Sometimes using soil to build a back bridge on the back water can increase stability to a certain extent, which is conducive to temporarily raising the height and preventing waves.

Some cities in the premise of not affecting the safety of flood control artifacts, the use of flood walls behind the soil greening, beautify the city, add new scenery to the city. In order to improve the foundation, pile can be driven under the levee to increase the stability of the foundation; To prevent water seepage, the surface of the water is usually filled with clay or other impervious bodies of water. Some are used as revetment foundation or stone revetment to stabilize the embankment on impervious water bodies in front of the river. Shanghai, China, has extensive experience in this field. In the flood control wall and seawall project, there are 60 kilometers of walls set up reinforced concrete curved wave walls, and some walls are also set up curved wind and wave protection walls.

The use of masonry weight to achieve stability is generally divided into two kinds: one is made of concrete cuboid prefabricated pulp; The other is made of stone pulp. Generally facing the water surface vertical, some design slope is steeper, back water slope is 1:1. Flood control artifacts are divided into the following six types: software, hardware form classification: software flood control artifacts, hardware flood control artifacts, flood control artifacts technical classification: filter firewall, application agent firewall. Flood control artifact structure classification: single host firewall, firewall application deployment location classification: border firewall.
